The Tax Credit Window
Now through April 30 and now for current homeowners!
Congress' first-time home buyer tax credit of up to $8,000 has been extended until April 30, 2010. But even better, it has been expanded to grant up to $6,500 credit to current home owners purchasing a new or existing home between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010.
Who Qualifies for the Extended Credit? First-time home buyers who purchase homes and current home owners purchasing a home, who have used the home being sold or vacated as a principal residence for five consecutive years within the last eight. To qualify as a "first-time home buyer" the purchaser or his/her spouse may not have owned a residence during the three years prior to the purchase.
Which Properties Are Eligible? The Extended Home Buyer Tax Credit may be applied to primary residences, including: single-family homes, condos, townhomes, and co-ops.
How Much Is Available? The maximum allowable credit for first-time home buyers is $8,000. The maximum allowable credit for current homeowners is $6,500.
How is a Buyer's Credit Amount Determined? Each home buyer's tax credit is determined by the price of the home and the buyer's income.
Under the Extended Home Buyer Tax Credit, credit may only be awarded on homes purchased for $800,000 or less. Single buyers with incomes up to $125,000 and married couples with incomes up to $225,000 are eligible to receive the maximum tax credit.

Of course, there's a joke:
A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car. The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the rabbit. Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead. The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry.
A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway sees a man crying on the side of a road and pulls over. She steps out of the car and asks the man what's wrong.
"I feel terrible," he explains, "I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."
The blonde says, "Don't worry." She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can. She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit, bends down, and sprays the contents onto the rabbit.
The rabbit jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road.
Ten feet away the rabbit stops, turns around and waves again,he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops out of sight.
The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands,"What is in that can?"
The woman turns the can around so that the man can read the label. It says . . "Hair Spray - Restores life to dead hair, adds permanent wave."
